World’s Most Popular Travel Destination, According To TikTok

With travel restrictions easing, more people are visiting popular destinations across the world. But according to TikTok, you don’t have to go far to see the most popular of them all.

A report by flight deal service Next Vacay has found that Disney World in Orlando is TikTok’s favorite travel destination, receiving over 8.6 billion views on the social media platform. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that a youth-focused location would be popular in an app used by millennials and zoomers. With so many things to see and do at Disney World, it’s expected that there’d also be a ton of content — like itinerary ideas and budget hacks — leading to such a staggering number of views.

In second place is Dubai’s Burj Khalifa with 1.9 billion views, while in the third spot is a classic travel hotspot, the Eiffel Tower, receiving over 719 million views. Meanwhile, the fourth most popular destination on TikTok is the Taj Mahal with 377 million views, and completing the top five is the Grand Canyon at 273 million views.

To produce their report, Next Vacay analyzed the most-viewed destinations on the platform and cross-referenced the data against TripAdvisor review scores, visitor counts, price points, weather, and availability of affordable accommodations.

“Searches for ‘travel TikTok videos’ have soared by 350 percent, and it’s not hard to see why. In 2022, younger millennials and Gen-Z travelers are turning to the viral social media app for travel inspiration, unfiltered advice, and genius travel hacks,” Next Vacay said.

“Whether you’re looking for natural wonders, breathtaking views, or the best architecture mankind has to offer; your next travel destination might just come from TikTok.”
